Art Clubs, Contests, Shows
ART UIL/Art Club:
*Please note: this info is from pre-covid UIL. We are not yet sure how UIL will look for this year. Stay tuned!*

  • Anyone can attend afteschool Art UIL/Art Club meetings. Some student work will advance to UIL competition based on eligibility in certain categories. Other students may wish to just work on personal projects (art club).

  • Art UIL / Art club meetings will begin in October. Meet afterschool on Tuesdays in Mrs. Suchma’s room (312) from 3:40-4:45pm and/or by appt. mornings in Ms. Bandy’s room. 

  • You must sign up yourself for the late bus (if needed) at least 1 day in advance or have a ride pickup at 4:45pm

  • Ask Ms. Bandy or Mrs. Suchma if you have questions

Art Contests: Check with your teacher for more info on art contests throughout the year!
Youth Art Month Exhibition: March is Youth Art Month! 

  • Each year all Hays CISD schools showcase student art work at the Hays Performing Art Center for one day in March.

  • This event is a great way for all students to admire artwork on display from schools across the district.

  • Teachers will select a variety of student art work to display at the YAM event.

  • Donated items (including art supplies) are available to bid on at the silent auction. Proceeds go to scholarships for art students.
